State Requirements & Legal Structure
Virtueward is national, but homeschool law is not. Families must use the program within the legal homeschool or school structure that applies where they live.

Family responsibility
- Confirm the homeschool or non-public-school option being used in the family’s state.
- File any required notice, registration, attendance, testing, immunization, record, or evaluation documents.
- Maintain the records required by the applicable law and chosen homeschool structure.
- Verify graduation, diploma, transcript, credit-transfer, athletic, scholarship, or postsecondary requirements that matter to the learner.
State profiles inside Virtueward
State profiles and standards alignment are educational and organizational aids. They do not mean a state has approved, endorsed, licensed, or accredited Virtueward. A state profile should be checked against current official state guidance before a family relies on it for compliance.
Tennessee pilot note
The current Tennessee Grade 6 pilot can be used as curriculum by a Tennessee independent homeschool family, but the parent or legal guardian remains responsible for the legal homeschool arrangement and teacher-of-record duties. Tennessee also recognizes separate approved non-public and accredited-online-school options, which are legally different from independent homeschooling.
